Investment Analysis

The lecture was held by Dr. Athanassios Fassas, Finance and Accounting lecturer at the Business Administration and Economics Department at CITY College – the International Faculty of the University of Sheffield. Dr. Athanassios Fassas, is also working as an investment advisor and equity trader in Pegasus Securities SA, a member of the Athens Exchange.

This unit’s guest lecturer was Mr Jovan Gavrilovski, certified CMC Consultant and former National Program Manager at the Business Advisory Services (BAS) Program of EBRD in Macedonia. Mr Gavrilovski regarded positively the establishment of the Academy, for what he declared:
“If the 19th century was century of new technologies, the 20th century was the century of service business, and the 21st century is the era of people with knowledge!”

This unit will contribute to a thorough understanding of the areas of portfolio management and security valuation and analysis. Students will familiarize themselves with the investment background and recent developments in investment theory, capital markets and asset pricing. Furthermore the will gain access to modern quantitative methods of security and portfolio valuation. Security analysis will focus on fixed income and equity. Important empirical and theoretical evidence will be examined along with practical implementation of tools and methodologies.
